We're here to help.

Porsi is a food diary that estimates calories from a photo - as a range you can correct, with your diary kept encrypted on your device.

If counting starts to feel heavy
Porsi is not a medical service. If counting calories becomes stressful, or eating brings guilt or fear, that is worth taking seriously - and you do not have to handle it alone. The app has a calm mode without numbers and a list of support resources in Settings. A doctor or a registered dietitian is the best first step.

Frequently asked questions

How does the photo scan work?

You take a photo, the app compresses it and sends it for recognition. Within a few seconds you get the dish, its components, the portion and a calorie range. Everything on that screen is editable before you save it - the dish name, the components, the portion and the numbers.

Why a range instead of one exact number?

Because a photo cannot show what is under the sauce or how much oil went into the pan. A single exact number would look confident and be wrong. Porsi shows the range it actually estimated and lets you correct it.

What is free, and what needs Pro?

Free: 3 photo scans a day, the diary, the weight trend and calm mode - no card, no trial to cancel. Manual entry and barcode lookup are always free and never count against the limit. What Porsi Pro adds is listed on the subscription screen in the app and on the App Store product page.

My free scans ran out. What now?

They reset once a day, on our server clock (UTC), so the exact hour depends on your time zone. In the meantime you can add the meal by hand or scan its barcode - both are free.

Are my photos private?

Photo scanning is off until you agree to it. The photo is sent for analysis and is not kept by our server afterwards; no name, email or account travels with it, because Porsi has none. Your diary is never uploaded to us and is stored encrypted on your device. Details in the Privacy Policy.

The dish was recognised incorrectly.

Tap the name on the result screen and correct it, adjust the portion and the components, then save. If a dish from your local cuisine is consistently wrong, write to us - the local dish list is something we extend by hand.

The barcode was not found.

Barcode data comes from Open Food Facts, an open community database, and not every product is in it yet. You can add the food by hand - that is free and unlimited. You can also add the product to Open Food Facts so that everyone benefits.

How do I turn Apple Health on or off?

Open Settings → Apple Health. Porsi only writes calories, macros, the meal name and weigh-ins; it never reads your Health data. The toggle in Porsi stops the writing; the permission itself is managed in the Health app, where you can also delete entries Porsi added.

How do I cancel the subscription?

Open the App Store app → tap your profile → Subscriptions, then select Porsi. Cancelling stops future renewals; Pro stays active until the end of the period you paid for.

I paid before - how do I restore my purchase?

On a new device or after reinstalling, open the Pro screen and tap Restore purchases while signed in with the same Apple ID you used to subscribe.

How do I delete my data?

Deleting the app removes the encrypted diary from your device. There is no account to close, because there is no account.

Is Porsi a medical tool?

No. Porsi is a food diary, not a medical or diagnostic tool, and not a substitute for a doctor or a registered dietitian - especially if you have a health condition, are pregnant or take medication. See our Terms of Use.
